Integrative Psychotherapy

PC

Person-Centred Therapy

Focuses on the belief that everyone has innate potential for self-growth and understanding. Listening  without judgment creates a supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and innermost  self. This can help us understand how our environment may influence our view of self.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

A goal-oriented approach that helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviour by exploring underlying assumptions, rules or values that are shaped by earlier experiences.

Learning to spot our 'automatic thinking patterns' and revealing their basis enables us to develop helpful strategies that support our long-term wellbeing.

AT

Attachment-Based Therapy

Explores how early relationships may shape our view of ourself, others and the world around us. It can help us understand why we experience relationships in particular ways, the coping mechanisms that we learnt to adapt to difficulties, patterns that we may repeat in our work, home and social life, and how we might automatically respond emotionally in the face of challenges.

TI

Trauma-Informed Approach

Builds awareness of the connection between mind and body revealing how trauma can affect us physically, emotionally, psychologically, behaviourally and spiritually. Offers skills and strategies to safely process traumatic experiences, their meanings and our responses. Learning to adapt in a positive way with grounding techniques and mindfulness.

CFT

Compassion Focussed Therapy

Encourages kindness towards ourself replacing self-criticism, shame and emotional distress. By understanding how our evolutionary survival system has shaped some of our automatic responses. We can spot when we are in a 'threat state', understand associated emotions, avoid self-judgement, and build self-compassion and resilience.

MM

Meditation & Mindfulness

Meditation can help us using imagery that cultivates positive states of mind that are soothing, bring balance, and develop self-compassion.

Mindfulness enables us to observe our thoughts with non-judgemental self-awareness, empowering us with choice in our responses.

These practices an innate skill we all possess

Integrative therapy combines multiple theories and techniques such as cognitive, psychodynamic and humanistic therapy to create a personalised treatment plan that responds to individual needs. Therapeutic tools and interventions are blended in way that is most appropriate for each individual.
